Mapping Order Shipment Methods and Refreshing NetSuite Shipment Methods

Mapping Order Shipment Methods

To get orders to import to NetSuite from your channel you will need to map the Shipment Method of an order. You will only have to do this the first time an order comes in with a specific shipment method. After that all orders with that shipment method will use the mapping you set. There are two ways to map shipment methods: 1) in the order directly or 2) in the “Shipment Settings” page.

Mapping Shipment Methods in an Order

Mapping Shipment Methods in an order directly is a quick way to setup a new mapping when you have an order come in with a shipment method FarApp does not recognize.

Note: See "Refreshing Your NetSuite Shipment Methods" section below if you do not see a shipment method you have recently added to NetSuite.

Note: This feature is not available for Amazon, you will have to use the “Order Settings” page which we provide instructions to below. To map the shipment settings in an order directly follow these steps:

  1. In app.farapp.com, click “Orders” in the menu at the top of the page in app.farapp.com.
  2. If you have multiple channels/accounts, use “Select Channel” and “Select Account” drop downs.
  3. Find the order that you wish to edit the shipment method for either by locating it manually in the list, or by entering the id of the order into the search bar.
  4. Click the Pencil and Paper icon to the right of the order and click Edit. This should bring up an Order Details display window.
  5. Click the “Mapping” tab in the Order Details display window. This should bring up the page where you can map the shipment method to post to NetSuite.
  6. Select the NetSuite shipment method from the drop down menu. If you do not see your desired NetSuite shipment method then you will need to retrieve the NetSuite shipment methods. Please see the “Retrieving NetSuite Shipment Methods” section of this page so you can get that desired shipment method and map to it.

Mapping Shipment Methods in the "Order Settings" Page

The “Order Settings” page allows you to view and edit all of the shipment mappings you have made in one place. Here are the steps to review/edit shipment methods in the “Order Settings” page:

Note: See "Refreshing Your NetSuite Shipment Methods" section below if you do not see a shipment method you have recently added to NetSuite.

Note: If you do not see a shipment method from your channel listed on this page, then it means that FarApp has not seen any orders with that shipment method come through the system. You can only map shipment methods for orders that have made it into FarApp.

  1. In app.farapp.com, click the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen and click “Settings”.
  2. Click “Order Settings” at the menu at the left, and then select the "Ship Method Mapping" tab.
  3. If there are multiple channels/accounts, choose the correct channel and account using the drop downs at the top. This will display a table with the shipment methods on orders that have imported to FarApp from that channel/account. Any orders that come in with new shipment methods will add entries to this table that will need to be mapped.

Refreshing Your NetSuite Shipment Methods

The “Order Settings” page provides you with the ability to reload the shipment methods you have in NetSuite. You will need to do this manually if you have added new shipment methods in NetSuite and want to map them immediately (FarApp will automatically load them every 24 hours). Here are the steps to accomplish this:

  1. In app.farapp.com, click the gear icon at the top right corner of the screen and click “Settings”.
  2. Click “Order Settings” at the menu at the left, and then select the "Ship Method Mapping" tab.
  3. Click “Refresh NetSuite Shipment Methods” at the top of the screen. Please note that it will take a few seconds for the update to show up in app.farapp.com.

Switching from NetSuite Sandbox to Production

You can control whether FarApp is connected to your NetSuite sandbox or production account using the "The NetSuite account you're connecting is a sandbox account and not a production account" checkbox at https://app.farapp.com/settings#/netsuite_settings. When switching from connecting to your NetSuite sandbox account to production account—or vice versa—you will need to re-establish all your shipment method mappings. This is because shipment methods may be different between your sandbox and production accounts or may have different internal IDs (which is how FarApp communicates to NetSuite).

When you do this switch, you should just set the default shipment method to use when no match is found to "Do Not Post." This will give you the opportunity to set up mappings for individual methods as orders come in with those methods. You will then set up mappings like you did in the "Mapping Order Shipment Methods" section at the top of this page.
